Good morning to all on this Glorious Sunday morning. Waine and I are in Atlanta and what a TREAT it is to be in our home, in our bed and with all my memories surrounding me. There has been a lot of living that has taken place at 3151 Rilman Road, NW, Atlanta, GA!!! Waine and I are very blessed to have each other, our children, our grandchildren and our friends. I am reminded that there are people who walk this earth and never hear a "Good Morning" or a kind word. The worked is hurting and suffering from sin. Its good to have a belief in a God that can fix all that!!
I am continuing my journey in Jeremiah 31, verses 26-40, "At this I awoke and looked around. My sleep had been pleasant to me. The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will plant the kingdoms of Israel and Judah with the offspring of people and of animals. Just as I watched over them to uproot and tear down, and to overthrow, destroy and bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant,” declares the Lord. In those days people will no longer say, 'The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.’ Instead, everyone will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes—their own teeth will be set on edge. The days are coming,” declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them, declares the Lord. This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more. This is what the Lord says, He who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar — the Lord Almighty is His name: Only if these decrees vanish from my sight, declares the Lord, will Israel ever cease being a nation before me. This is what the Lord says: Only if the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below be searched out will I reject all the descendants of Israel because of all they have done, declares the Lord. The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when this city will be rebuilt for Me from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. The measuring line will stretch from there straight to the hill of Gareb and then turn to Goah. The whole valley where dead bodies and ashes are thrown, and all the terraces out to the Kidron Valley on the east as far as the corner of the Horse Gate, will be holy to the Lord. The city will never again be uprooted or demolished." Amen and may the Lord add a blessing to the reading and hearing of His Word.
What struck me about these verses is that GOD NEVER GIVES UP ON US! He is always looking out for us and telling us that His steadfast love is akin to the knowledge that the Sun will come up each day and the skies will be lit by the Moon and Stars at night. These are daily transitions that we take for granted-- no one wakes up during the predawn hours and wonders "is the sun going to come up today?' This is a fact we take for granted. Non-believers will theorize that its because the earth spins on its axis by gravitational forces and to that I say what made the gravitational force. Hallelujah--Somebody Bigger than you and I! These verses also foretell the coming of Christ --the ultimate New Covenant BECAUSE God wanted a way, once and for all to be able to forgive and forget the sinfulness of man. He loves us that much. We are His children and as a loving Father He wants to be able to have All his children around Him--but He and sin cannot occupy the same space. He will never be in the vicinity or atmosphere of sin. The sacrifice of Christ makes it possible for God to establish this new covenant with us.
The world needs this message. There are so many people who need the Love of God in their lives. We live in interesting times. The anti-Christ is among us and Satan is alive and well. God needs us to Proclaim the Good News that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life for this generation. He needs foot soldiers willing to proclaim this Good News. Is your Life a light for others? Does God permeate your every day world? Do your coworkers and boss see God in you! If the rapture took place today, who would be left behind? God needs us to Proclaim this Good News about this New Covenant because He desires that all be saved! Thank God for His covenant that covers me!
Now may the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
