The Rainbow of God After EVERY Trial!!!!

Good morning to all on this last Sunday of 2012. We spent last weekend in Orlando with the "cherubs". Hailie had a ballet recital and when I tell you she was the cutest thing on 2 legs with her pink tutu, I am not exaggerating! Chirstmas with Freddie, Tracy, Kai and Hailie is always a treat. My sister Velma and her daughter Michele came up from Miami with baby Kenzo and son-in-law Marco. Many good memories were made on this trip which is what I think spending time with family is all about. As all these talks about fiscal cliffs are taking place isn't it good to know the God that handles it all. It's a good time to exercise FAITH! ZOe Peds has a new web-site. Check it out at www.zoepeds.com.

I am continuing my journey in Jeremiah 45 verses 1 - 5 "When Baruch son of Neriah wrote on a scroll the words Jeremiah the prophet dictated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, Jeremiah said this to Baruch:  “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch:  You said, ‘Woe to me! The Lord has added sorrow to my pain; I am worn out with groaning and find no rest.’ But the Lord has told me to say to you, ‘This is what the Lord says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the earth. Should you then seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the Lord, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life." Amen and may God add a blessing to the reading and hearing of His Word.

I think this is the shortest chapter in Jeremiah! Now remember the context of this chapter is that Baruch had disobeyed God and took the remnants of the tribe of Judah to Egypt against God's commandment. Devastation followed but this is the rainbow at the end of the storm! Many of the tribe of Judah perished in Egypt because they followed the idolatrous leading of Baruch. Apparently Baruch survived and this is God's promise to the remnant of Judah. God never breaks His promises! We break ours all  the time. We even break silly ones that don't matter to God; they only matter because our self esteeme gets eroded with disobedience. There are only two things that matter to God; in Matthew 22 verses 37-40 Jesus replied when asked by a Pharisee what was the greatest commandment: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”  Now the Pharisee was trying to trip Jesus up to decide which of the 10 commandments was the greatest of all commandments. What the Pharisee was concentrating on was the laws of the old dispensation which Christ had come to fulfill which were based on the 2 Great Commandments which Jesus articulated in Matthew. You see the Pharisee was "majoring in the minors and minoring on the MAJOR!". If we live our lives on these two Great Commandments as delineated by Christ then we will be fulfilled. We will have rainbows everyday and the circumstances of life will not be important. These two Great Commandments help us to live in the now and not worry about the future will may never come.

Be blessed as we approach the new year. Leave your old thinking behind and let Christ REST, RULE and ABIDE in you so that you can experience the prosperity God has for you. The offer is always extended.

Now may the the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you;. May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace!
